Company Policies:

All orders are subject to the Company Policies listed below.

These policies serve as an agreement between McCarthy Granite and its customers, defining the guidelines and conditions for using our services.

1. Official Communication Policy

To ensure accuracy and accountability, all customer requests involving:

  • Special      arrangements
  • Change      orders
  • Delivery      instructions
  • New or      revised designs
  • Cancellations

must be submitted via email.

Verbal communication, including phone calls or text messages, is considered supplementary only and will not constitute an official request. This policy helps protect both parties by maintaining a reliable and verifiable communication record.

2. Delivery Acceptance & Storage Policy

Once materials arrive at our warehouse, McCarthy Granite will notify you by email.

From the date of notification:

  • Customers must accept delivery within 60 days.
  • If delivery is not scheduled or accepted within that time, storage fees will be added to your invoice. These fees vary based on the size of the order.
  • If storage fees are not paid, McCarthy Granite reserves the right to consider the order forfeited.
  • Forfeited materials may be resold without notice if deemed of value to other clients.
  • Storage fees accrued before forfeiture remain the customer’s responsibility.

Delivery Inspection

  • For McCarthy Granite deliveries: You have 10 calendar days from the date of delivery to report any preexisting damage.
  • For customer pickups: Inspection must be completed at the time of pickup.
  • In certain cases, a 30-day inspection extension may be granted in writing, either on the delivery packing slip or via email.

Canceled Deliveries

To recover costs associated with last-minute cancellations:

  • If the truck is loaded but has not left the warehouse: a $150 fee will be charged to cover warehouse time and scheduling disruption.
  • If the driver has left the warehouse: a $250 fee will be charged to cover time and fuel costs.
  • A 10% restocking fee may also apply depending on the circumstances.

Stock Orders & Custom Orders

Due to an increased number of unscheduled deliveries and pickups, McCarthy Granite enforces the following:

  • Stock orders that remain in our warehouse for more than 45 days without a scheduled delivery or pickup may be canceled at our discretion, and the materials made available to other customers.
  • Custom orders held for over 45 days may be subject to a 10% storage fee. After 90 days, custom orders may be offered to other clients at McCarthy Granite’s discretion.

3. Ordering, Cancellations, and Order Changes

  Payment Policies

  • A 50% deposit is required upfront for all orders (special orders and in-stock items) if:
    • You are a new customer
    • You are on credit hold
    • Your payment history is unsatisfactory
  • Any order over $2,500 requires a 50% deposit regardless of customer status.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • No cancellations or refunds will be issued for custom orders that have entered production (including etching or cutting).
  • Orders canceled before production begins may be eligible for a refund.

Returns

  • Returned items are subject to a 10% restocking fee, and the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
  • Modified or altered products are not eligible for return under any circumstances.

Order Changes

  • All change requests must be submitted in writing via email.
  • McCarthy Granite will review and approve changes based on whether the order has progressed beyond the point of modification.

Payment Reminders

As a small, owner-operated business, we rely on timely payments to ensure continued service and product availability:

  • Past-due balances are subject to a 1.5% monthly late fee on the overdue amount.
  • For convenience, we offer a free online ACH bank payment option.
  • We also accept credit cards upon request (a small transaction fee applies).

Stonespot Ordering

To help expedite the ordering process and reduce errors, we encourage customers to use their free Stonespot software account whenever possible.

4. Customer Transport Liability Waiver

If you choose to pick up and transport your order:

  • McCarthy Granite assumes no responsibility for damage to products or injury to persons once materials leave our premises.
  • This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Failure of tiedowns or securing straps
    • Improper securing or load positioning
    • Actions of the transport driver

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your load is secure and suitable for safe transport.

By placing an order and accepting the release of materials, you acknowledge and agree to this liability waiver.
